Venture & Private Equity · A venture for collectors of cars and watches
The Provenance Vault
For the collector with a car in the garage and a watch in the safe: a provenance-first membership, with plan, deck and lookbook.
The brief, verbatim
Laura, can you? I'm trying to build a business kind of like the registry, but for watches. You know the registry? I want to do it for watches. I want to compete with the big watch marketplace apps. What I want to do is combine watches and cars and have a place where buyers and sellers come together, because typically exotic car people, high-end luxury car people, or classic car people, whatever, are also watch connoisseurs.
I want to combine a registry on the car side, like the watch marketplaces, and build a business where those two cohorts have comments. I don't know if it's a marketplace. I don't know if it's a social network. Most likely not. There is so much out there already. This is more of a place for you to try to sell your car or sell your watch, buy a watch, buy a car.
I'm just kind of brainstorming here. I want to build the whole business plan, strategy, lookbook, the deck (I mean, not in the PDF, all that stuff).
What the studio made
A twenty-five-page business plan led by the wedge — the permanent, documented life of a collectible object, owned by the collector and portable across every sale — with the market sized honestly, both worlds held apart, the competitive field read against the players' own published fees, the moat argued as three mechanisms, a three-tier subscription model and unit economics walked with the arithmetic shown, ending on a sourced receipt. Beside it, an editable investor deck and a brand lookbook for the unnamed venture.
