Read this before you trust a number
This is a direct-materials (parts-only) BOM. It excludes NRE, tooling, labor, assembly, test, certification, and margin — those are larger than the parts and live in the finance section, not here. The gross-margin readouts above are therefore a hardware-only view; true fully-loaded unit economics sit in the dossier's financial model.
Every line is a band, never a false single number. Totals sum low→low and high→high, so the honest range survives end to end. The midpoint shown beside each band is a convenience readout, not a quote.
The computed band is the arithmetic floor and ceiling; the headline band is what you plan against. Sum-of-highs assumes every component lands at its worst-case price at the same time, which no real build does. The dossier's volume headline is ~$4,200–$6,800/unit (±30%) — tighter than the raw ceiling because it is a realistic engineering posture after design-for-manufacture, not every worst case stacked at once. The prototype headline is ~$28,000–$42,000 — higher than the base parts total because a real engineering build adds the research-grade arm, the optional ATI force sensor, spares, and the inevitable second-of-everything.
The volume figures assume design-for-manufacture work not yet done, and assume the compute requirement holds. If the VLA can be shrunk or partially offloaded, the compute line — and the whole BOM — drops materially. If medical-grade sensor qualification forces higher-cost modules, it rises. The ±30% band is the honest posture at this stage.
Sources. Component prices verified against vendors' own 2026 pages: NVIDIA / VideoCardz (Jetson Thor dev kit $5,499; T5000 module $4,999, T4000 $2,999 @1KU+), STMicroelectronics (STM32H7 @10k ~$8.19), Trossen Robotics (WidowX 250 S ~$3,100; WidowX AI from $4,545.95), ODrive Robotics (S1 $149, Botwheel from $279), Slamtec (RPLIDAR A1 ~$100 class), Intel RealSense (D435i ~$350, D455 ~$400). Estimate lines are stated engineering assumptions; the ATI force/torque sensor is quote-only (built-to-order). Subscription range — Hero Health ($29.99/mo prepaid annually, ~$360/yr), Livi (~$99/mo) — verified across fielded home dispensers, 2026: $30–$125/mo.
