Spaces & Architecture · Planetarium concept

A planetarium that makes a kid decide to spend a life looking up

A planetarium and space-science center that makes a kid decide, in one afternoon, to spend their life looking up.

The brief, verbatim

``` I want to build a modern planetarium and space-science center for a mid-sized city, a place that makes a kid decide, in one afternoon, to spend their life looking up. This is a public building and a public experience, and I want the whole thing.
Design it end to end:
The building. A piece of architecture worth traveling for, the dome as the icon, the way a visitor arrives and moves from daylight into the dark and out into the stars. Show me the exterior, the atrium, the dome theater, the exhibition halls. Photorealistic, magazine-grade, one architectural vision. Give me the plans and the flow so it reads as a real building, not just pretty pictures.
The experience. What happens inside, gallery by gallery. The journey from Earth outward: our planet, the solar system, the life of stars, the scale of the galaxy, the edge of the observable universe. The dome show itself. The interactive exhibits, hands-on, the ones kids crowd around. Make the sequence tell a story, from the ground under your feet to the far edge of everything.
The brand and identity. The name, the logo, the palette, the voice, the way it shows up on a banner and a ticket and a phone. Wonder made tangible.
Make it real enough to fund and build:
  • The visitor journey mapped, arrival to exit
  • The key exhibits designed and shown
  • A dome-show concept, the flagship experience
  • The brand system applied across the building and its materials
  • A sense of who it serves: school groups, families, the late-night adult shows
  • The pitch: why a city builds this, what it does for the place, the case a mayor or a donor needs to say yes
The standard: someone reads this and wants to break ground. Make it beautiful, make it buildable, and make it fill a room with people looking up. ```
What the room did
The Aurelia concept book: the building with the dome as its icon, the journey from daylight into the dark and out into the stars, the galleries from Earth to the edge of the observable universe, and the identity. The plans arrived as their own set.
