The great voyages by sea, designed as bookable journeys

The world's greatest luxury voyages by sea, designed as real, plannable two-week journeys.

The brief, verbatim

I want a beautiful book of the world's greatest luxury voyages by sea, designed as real, plannable two-week journeys. The idea: seeing the world through five-star cruising, where you fly in, board, sail a legendary stretch of coast or ocean, step off, fly on, and board again, chaining the finest routes into one extraordinary trip.

Design the great itineraries. Choose the most spectacular cruising regions on earth, the Norwegian fjords and Arctic, the Mediterranean from the Amalfi coast through the Greek islands, the Adriatic and the Dalmatian coast, the Alaskan inside passage, French Polynesia and the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Chilean fjords and Cape Horn, the Caribbean's quieter corners. Build several two-week journeys, each one a route worth building a life around, and at least one grand journey that chains two or three legs together with flights between, the fly-cruise-fly-cruise idea done at the highest level.

For every journey, give me:

  • The arc of the trip: where you fly into, where you board, the ports and the sea days, where you disembark, and how the legs connect. Mapped clearly, day by day, so it reads as a real itinerary I could hand to a travel designer and book.
  • Stunning photorealistic imagery: the ship in a breathtaking setting at golden hour, a legendary port from the water, the coastline you sail past, a suite or a deck you would not want to leave, an intimate detail. Several images each, so pictures carry the book.
  • What makes each leg unmissable: the ports, the landscapes, the moments that only happen from the sea.
  • The practical spine: the best season, roughly how long each leg runs, the caliber of ship and line the route calls for, what a traveler should know.
  • A few lines of evocative writing that make me want to sail tomorrow.

Then a closing verdict: if you could take a single one of these two-week voyages, which and why.

Design it as an elegant travel book: a stunning cover, generous layout, the maps and itineraries laid out beautifully, the images given room, quiet typography, the journeys sequenced to build.

The standard: image-rich, breathtaking, one photographer's eye across the whole book, luxurious throughout, and true and practical enough that someone could actually plan and book these trips. Keep the routes, seasons, and ports real, not invented.

What the room did

Seven bookable journeys and one Grand Voyage chaining Chile to Cape Horn, South Georgia, and Antarctica. Every ship, port, and season is checked against live sources this month in a verified routes note, and the verdict page names the Chilean Fjords run as the place where the small ship isn't the nicer choice but the only one physics allows.
