A Winter 2026 collection drawn in pencil and wash, nineteen plates

A Winter 2026 collection told entirely in pencil and wash, the atelier stage itself: croquis before a single garment exists.

The brief, verbatim

I want to see a fashion collection told entirely through sketches, the way a designer works before a single garment exists. This is the atelier stage: paper and pencil, croquis, the raw beauty of a couturier sketching a first collection. Think the romance of Yves Saint Laurent sketching in his Paris studio and in Marrakech, that lineage. Sketches only, no photographs, no rendered garments, no runway. The art of the fashion sketch is the whole point, and I want to see the studio's hand at it.

The collection is a women's Winter 2026 line, and it should move from day to evening, building to the showpieces:

  • Winter daywear: coats, tailoring, knitwear, the structured cold-weather pieces, wools and heavy fabrics rendered in pencil
  • Then the heart of it, evening wear: beautiful gowns for late nights, the dramatic silhouettes, the drape and movement that make an evening dress a work of art

Render it as genuine fashion illustration. Elegant croquis on paper, confident pencil and light hand-color where it earns it, the elongated figures, the gestural line, the swatches pinned beside a look, the designer's notes in the margins. Some quick and loose, some more finished, the way a real sketchbook breathes. The paper, the pencil, the hand should feel present on every page. Make the sketches genuinely beautiful and cool, the kind of drawings you would frame.

Alongside each look, a short description in the designer's voice: the fabric, the idea, the mood, the woman it is for. A line or two, elegant and evocative, the way a designer annotates their own work.

Design it as a collection portfolio, an atelier sketchbook: a lovely cover, the looks flowing day into evening, the drawings given room, the descriptions quiet beside them. It should feel like being handed the private sketchbook of a rising designer the moment before their first collection comes to life.

The standard: the sketches have to be striking on their own, real fashion illustration at a high level. Make me see the collection in pencil and want to watch it walk.

What the room did

The Winter 2026 atelier sketchbook, nineteen plates: the collection drawn as a couturier works, winter daywear in wool and heavy fabric first, then the evening gowns building to the showpieces, every numbered look a pencil-and-wash croquis with its own caption and fabric line. Bound as the première collection sketchbook, Paris on the cover.
