Spaces & Architecture · Dream house on a Malibu hilltop
CRESTA
A dream house designed before the lot is bought: one low bar of concrete and oak bent into a shallow V on a Malibu crest, ocean on one side, canyon on the other.
The brief, verbatim
I am looking to potentially build a house in the Southern California Malibu area. I don't have a lot yet, but I'm thinking about purchasing a lot and building my dream house, something spectacular, modern, soft, warm, probably. 3 acres, maybe 67,000 sq. ft.
Build me the dream house and give me plans to hand them to an architect. I want the imagery, I want a video walkthrough, and I want the whole thing. Can you do it?
What the studio made
CRESTA, told in the order you walk it: a 14-page concept book of the hilltop that looks both ways, the one idea under a single roof, and every room — the gallery, the great room where the west wall becomes the Pacific, the infinity edge, the primary suite and stone tub, the canyon courtyard, the wellness level tucked into the hill, and the palette. A seven-sheet plan set to scale for the architect, with site criteria so the design transfers to a real three-acre lot, a one-minute walkthrough film with calm sound, and the hero frames.
