A six-bedroom mountain house, drawn architect-grade

A six-bedroom mountain house in Big Sky, all glass to the peaks: architect-grade plans at a $10 million build.

The brief, verbatim

Okay, I need plans. I want to build a house in Big Sky, Montana, in the Spanish Peaks, with all glass in the back overlooking the mountains:

  • About six bedrooms
  • About 8,000 sq. ft.
  • Three-story walkout basement
  • Kind of modern, but with a rustic vibe
  • Mountain kind of a good mountain vibe
  • 1-acre lot
  • There are trees on the lot
  • No pool
  • Spa off the back, on the basement side, on the walkout
  • Garage for five cars
  • Five fireplaces
  • Wraparound porch
  • Price range: probably around a $10 million price range with the lot
  • Without the lot: another $1 million

What the room did

The concept book drawn architect-grade: site strategy, all three levels of plans, the south glass elevation, the section through the walkout, materials, and the cost story at the $10M. Five source drawings and the cost narrative ride alongside.
