Products & Industrial Design · A city e-scooter from ten years ahead
The Blade Column
A stand-up city scooter drawn as one continuous ribbon of anodised aluminium, then priced and routed to a first production run.
The brief, verbatim
make me a cool electric scooter for the city...something something different from what you see out in the neighborhoods today. I want a cool one, really cool, that people will see and envy me because it's new, it's different, and they've never seen it before. I want this one.
What the studio made
A thirteen-page concept book: one ribbon from the hubless front ring to the deck, no visible hardware, a cool line of light that only speaks at night, the cradle arm that holds the front wheel, a graphite colorway, the scooter in the city, and the path to production through three doors into a first run. With a build companion on manufacturing partners and low minimums, and a live cost model with run size and price to move.
The finished work
