Learning & Education · An Italian course, built backward from one dinner
Twenty minutes a day, built backward from a Bologna table
The whole family flies to Italy in the spring, and he refuses to be the dad pointing at menus. Twenty minutes a day, twelve weeks, built backward from one dinner table in Bologna.
The brief, verbatim
We're taking the whole family to Italy next spring and I refuse to be the dad pointing at menus. Build me a twelve-week Italian course for a busy adult: twenty minutes a day, structured so it actually sticks, a real phrasebook organized around the trip we're taking (trains, restaurants, the market, small talk with my cousin's family in Bologna), and a way to test myself every week so I know I'm not kidding myself. I did two years of high school Spanish twenty years ago; that's all you're working with.
What the room did
The 40-page course book: twelve weeks routed through twenty-year-old high-school Spanish instead of fighting it, with a weekly self-test so nobody's kidding themselves. The phrasebook is organized around the actual trip — trains, the trattoria, the market, his cousin's table — and lives in the browser. The audio course rides along; three tracks ship with the case.
